Walt Disney Names Adam Smith as Chairman of Direct-to-Consumer

05:26 PM EDT, 09/17/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Walt Disney (DIS) said late Thursday it has named Adam Smith as chairman of Direct-to-Consumer for Disney Entertainment. Smith joined Disney in 2024, and most recently served as co-president of Direct-to-Consumer and chief product and technology officer for Disney Entertainment and ESPN, the company said. Walt Disney said Joe Earley will take over the newly created role of president of Disney Entertainment Television Franchise and Content Strategy. Earley joined Disney in 2019, and most recently served as co-president, Direct-to-Consumer and head of Content Strategy, the company added.
