Vera Therapeutics Kidney Disease Drug Meets Prespecified Endpoints in Origin 3 Trial

07:22 AM EDT, 09/15/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Vera Therapeutics' (VERA) kidney disease treatment Trutakna achieved all prespecified endpoints during a final review of its Origin 3 study, with full US Food and Drug Administration approval expected in 2027, the drugmaker said Tuesday. The medication stopped kidney function from worsening over a 104-week period and lowered the risk of the disease advancing by 76% versus a placebo, the company said. None of the patients taking the drug needed dialysis, required a transplant, or died during the evaluation, compared to eight people in the placebo group, the company said. Vera processed more than 350 patient start forms during the first 10 weeks of the medicine's market launch, it said. Shares of the company were up nearly 12% in Tuesday premarket activity.
