According to Golden Ten Data, Dell Technologies (DELL.US) surged over 10% at the start of trading on Friday, accumulating a 340% increase year-to-date, and is currently trading at $560.83. According to reports, Dell Technologies plans to raise around $4 billion by issuing investment-grade bonds to repay maturing debts and for general corporate purposes. According to insiders, Dell is planning to issue four tranches of bonds, with maturities ranging from 3 to 10 years. The final issuance size has not yet been determined and might be adjusted according to market demand. Preliminary pricing discussions for the longest tranche suggest its yield may be up to about 1.4 percentage points higher than that of U.S. Treasuries of the same maturity. The funds raised from this bond issuance will mainly be used to repay outstanding bonds due in 2026, with the remainder allocated for general corporate purposes.
Bloomberg Industry Research analyst Robert Schiffman stated that this bond issuance is expected to further solidify Dell's already stable credit profile, while its AI business is driving the company's performance to record levels. Schiffman pointed out that Dell currently has sufficient financial flexibility to refinance upcoming debt maturities while maintaining a mid-tier BBB credit rating, and to further enhance shareholder returns.
