August Exchange Rankings: Spot Market Grows Over 18%, Trading Activity Rebounds Significantly
In August 2026, the spot trading volume of mainstream CEX increased by 18.64% compared with July 2026, and the perpetual contract trading volume increased by 10.89% compared with July 2026. The increase in spot trading volume was significantly higher than that of contracts, indicating that the market recovery in trading activity was mainly driven by demand for spot trading.

In August, the website traffic of mainstream CEX decreased by 0.26% compared with July 2026, and the website downloads of mainstream CEX decreased by 5.61% compared with July 2026. In the absence of synchronous growth in external traffic, the trading volume has instead rebounded significantly, which may indicate that this round of increased trading activity comes more from improvements in transaction frequency and conversion efficiency among existing users, rather than a large-scale influx of new users or external traffic.

In August, the perpetual contract trading volume of mainstream Perp DEX increased by 8.98% compared with July 2026, with no significant rise or fall in website traffic.
