  1. Meta personal AI agent “Muse” goes live
Meta officially launched Muse, which can send emails, book flights, fill forms, negotiate and complete payments on a dedicated secure VM — and keep running after the app is closed. It is live in the US on iOS, Android, web and WhatsApp, with a free tier plus $20/$100 subscriptions. Shares closed up more than 6.5%, cushioning the broader market decline.
🎯 Beneficiaries: META; Key catalyst: Agents shifting from chat to execution — watch paid conversion and upcoming AI-glasses integration.

  2. Apple unveils first foldable, iPhone Duo
New CEO John Ternus’s first keynote launched iPhone Duo: 5.4-inch cover display, 7.6-inch inner screen, starting at $1,999 / 256GB (up to 2TB). Pre-orders Oct. 16, ships Oct. 23; iPhone 18 Pro lineup also debuted. AAPL closed down about 0.3%. The foldable form factor lifts demand for hinges, thermal, memory and panels.
🎯 Beneficiaries: AAPL, MU; Key catalyst: Pre-order window will test build plans and high-capacity memory premiums.

  3. Qualcomm locks in Amazon AI inference deal of up to $60B
QCOM and AWS agreed on multi-generation custom silicon for AI inference plus optical interconnects up to 1.6T. Amazon received warrants for about 25 million shares at $161.26 (~$4B), vesting with purchase milestones, against a purchase cap of about $60B.
🎯 Beneficiaries: QCOM, AMZN, MRVL; Key catalyst: Handset chipmaker entering cloud inference + optics — valuation hinges on order conversion.

  4. Memory and optical names rally against the tape
Major averages fell for a third straight session, but the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index still closed +0.37%. SK Hynix jumped about 7% to a record; Micron rose about 2.8%; Marvell gained more than 4%, MaxLinear more than 7%. Tight AI memory plus foldable/data-center bandwidth upgrades pulled capital into hardware.
🎯 Beneficiaries: MU, MRVL, LITE; Key catalyst: Validation window for HBM/enterprise storage and 1.6T optical orders.

  5. Google commits $15.1B to Finland AI buildout and locks nuclear power
Alphabet will invest at least $15.1B (~€13B) over the next two years in Finnish data centers and signed a 22-year PPA with Fortum for up to 50% of Loviisa nuclear output through around 2050. GOOGL closed down more than 2%; the story is that power is tighter than chips.
🎯 Beneficiaries: GOOGL; Key catalyst: Nuclear + cold-climate siting becoming the next template for compute expansion outside North America.

  6. Brent tops $100; energy the only green sector
US-Iran tensions escalated again and Hormuz traffic stayed constrained. Brent settled at $101.21/bbl (up ~3.4%), first close above $100 since July. S&P energy rose about 1.1%, the only sector in the green. The 10-year yield climbed to about 4.84%, highest since November 2023.
🎯 Beneficiaries: XOM, CVX; Key catalyst: Today’s PPI and tomorrow’s CPI will decide how far oil feeds into rate-hike pricing.

Trading note: Three-day index slump with rotation from software/consumer into energy, memory, optics and agent hardware. Today’s PPI, Friday CPI and next week’s FOMC (~60% priced for a hike) are the main volatility drivers — size positions with volume.
