Hawaiian Electric deploys crews, equipment to aid Kauaʻi recovery efforts
Reuters2026/09/09 23:17- Hawaiian Electric, a HEI subsidiary, will deploy crews and equipment to support Kauaʻi recovery efforts following Hurricanes Lowell and Lala.
- Initial team arrives tomorrow for damage assessments; trucks and other equipment are scheduled to reach the island by barge on Friday.
- Restoration on Oʻahu is largely complete; about 400 customers remain without power, mainly in Makaha Valley and parts of Honolulu.
- Hawaiʻi Island service has been fully restored, including Wood Valley, with mutual-aid support from Southern California Edison crews.
