The US Dollar Index showed a downward trend on the 8th. As an indicator measuring the exchange rate performance of the US dollar against six major currencies, the US Dollar Index fell by 0.13% that day and finally closed at 98.787 in the late session of the foreign exchange market. As of the close of trading in the New York foreign exchange market, the euro-dollar exchange rate was 1 euro to 1.1629 US dollars, higher than the previous trading day's 1.1624 US dollars. The pound-dollar exchange rate was 1 pound to 1.3547 US dollars, also higher than the previous trading day's 1.3542 US dollars.For other major currency pairs, the dollar-yen exchange rate was 1 US dollar to 153.61 yen, lower than the previous trading day's 154.34 yen; the dollar-Swiss franc exchange rate was 1 US dollar to 0.8090 Swiss francs, down from the previous day's 0.8095 Swiss francs; the dollar-Canadian dollar exchange rate was 1 US dollar to 1.3781 Canadian dollars, lower than the previous trading day's 1.3815 Canadian dollars; and the dollar-Swedish krona exchange rate was 1 US dollar to 9.5816 Swedish kronas, a decline from the previous trading day's 9.5935 Swedish kronas.
