Dark Defender Says Whether or Not They Pass the Clarity, XRP Is Ready. Here’s why
XRP is repeating a pattern that preceded two of its most significant price runs. Crypto analyst Dark Defender (@DefendDark) posted a weekly chart showing the asset replicating the Exponential Moving Average “Jumping Pattern” seen in 2014 and 2017. He stated, “The Frog Leap for an all-time high is closer than you can ever imagine.”
The Jumping Pattern Explained
The chart marks two instances of this Jumping Pattern. The first appeared in 2024, echoing the conditions Dark Defender identifies from 2014 and 2017. This pattern preceded XRP’s well-known 500% rally that pushed it above $3 for the first time since 2018. The second is forming right now.
In each prior case, XRP’s price compressed near key moving averages before a significant rally followed. The current structure mirrors those setups. XRP is consolidating near the 23.60% Fibonacci level at $1.1204, with the 85.40% level at $1.5692 acting as immediate resistance.
Whether or not they pass the Clarity, XRP is ready and mimicking the 2017 and 2014 Exponential Moving Average Jumping Patterns.

The Fibonacci Targets
The chart maps a clear upside sequence. The 161.80% level sits at $1.8815. Above that, 261.80% stands at $4.1043. Further targets are 361.80% at $7.0786 and 427.20% at $10.1101. The highest marked level places XRP at $18.2275. Dark Defender notes the setup holds “whether or not they pass the Clarity.”
The CLARITY Act Situation
The CLARITY Act would establish a regulatory framework for digital assets including XRP. Its Senate procedural vote is scheduled for September 15. The House, however, leaves Washington by September 17 and will not return until mid-November.
The Senate process alone could take one to two weeks given procedural votes and potential amendments. If the Senate produces an amended version, the House must still approve those changes. With members absent until mid-November, any remaining action would occur in a post-midterm environment. Senator Cynthia Lummis has warned that failing to pass the bill before then could push meaningful crypto legislation to 2030.
What the Chart Projects
Dark Defender’s analysis places current XRP price action at the base of a launch sequence that has occurred multiple times before. The EMA structure on the weekly chart shows the moving averages converging in a formation consistent with those prior pre-rally conditions. A breakout could quickly send XRP toward double-digit gains, and the analyst is convinced that a new all-time high is around the corner.
