Monte Rosa to Receive $50 Million Milestone Payment From Novartis for Phase 2 Launch of MRT-6160

08:18 AM EDT, 09/08/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Monte Rosa Therapeutics (GLUE) said Tuesday it will receive a $50 million milestone payment from Novartis (NVS) after initiating a phase 2 clinical trial of MRT-6160 to treat Sjogren's disease. The company said the payment is part of a licensing agreement between the companies under which it is eligible to receive up to $2.1 billion in development, regulatory and sales milestone payments. The trial is evaluating the drug's safety, tolerability and efficacy in people with Sjogren's disease, an autoimmune disease that impacts multiple organs and causes symptoms such as dryness, fatigue, pain, and an increased risk of lymphoma.
