According to Reuters, the scale of Iran-related cryptocurrency activity in 2025 is estimated at $8 billion to $10 billion. The U.S. government has included digital assets, gold, technology, aviation, and shipping among sectors affected by secondary sanctions against Iran.

Of this, BTC ETF net inflows were about $987 million, with $731 million flowing in on September 3, the third highest for the year. BTC ETF assets under management rose to $103.3 billion, accounting for around 6.32% of BTC supply. BTC-denominated open interest dropped from 762,200 coins in mid-August to 669,600 coins, while BTC’s price rose from about $63,000 to $80,000 in the same period, with recent trends driven by spot market capital.
