Intel PC CPUs are tentatively scheduled for another 10% price increase in early October

Supply chain sources have revealed that due to overall cost surges, Intel (INTC.US) has gradually increased PC CPU prices over the past year, with a tentative plan to raise prices by another 10% in early October. Despite forecasts of a slight decline in the PC end market by 2027, Intel is still choosing to increase CPU prices, making it apparent that boosting gross margins is its primary goal, whereas previous strategies of aggressive price cuts for market share are no longer seen. According to supply chain analysis, if Intel sets low gross margins as a critical threshold for product discontinuation, some products will inevitably be phased out. Once this demand is released, it may provide opportunities for Arm-based vendors such as MediaTek and Qualcomm to enter the market.
