Glonghui, September 5|The three major US stock indices collectively closed lower under pressure from nonfarm employment data that far exceeded expectations. The Dow Jones fell by 0.51%, down 0.27% for the week; the Nasdaq fell by 0.29%, up 0.4% for the week; the S&P 500 Index fell by 0.38%, up 0.09% for the week.By market capitalization ranking, NVIDIA rose 0.84%, Apple fell 2.51%, Google-A fell 1.11%, Microsoft fell 2.04%, TSMC rose 2.76%, SpaceX fell 1.2%, Meta rose 1%, and Tesla fell 5.92%.The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index rose more than 3%; the memory sector surged, SanDisk rose over 11%, SK Hynix rose over 8%, Seagate Technology fell over 6%, Western Digital rose over 5%, and Micron Technology rose over 6%; the optical communications sector climbed, Marvell Technology rose over 7%, Coherent rose over 6%, Corning rose over 5%, and Lumentum rose 4%.Lululemon fell over 17%, hitting a new closing low since 2018.The Nasdaq Golden Dragon China Index closed up 0.89%, but was down 2.5% for the week. Alibaba rose 1.28%, NetEase rose 1.91%, JD.com rose 1.87%, Baidu rose 4.07%, Li Auto rose 2.57%, Bilibili fell 1.74%.
