Amprius Technologies Unveils Battery Cell for Long-Endurance Aviation

09:07 AM EDT, 09/02/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Amprius Technologies (AMPX) has unveiled a new 500 Wh/kg SiCore battery cell designed for long-endurance aircraft, including high-altitude platforms and drones, the company said Wednesday. The new cell is expected to become commercially available in Q4, with initial production at the company's Fremont, California facility, and larger-scale manufacturing through existing contract manufacturers, it said. The cell can be made using standard lithium-ion battery equipment and processes, the company added.
