Broadcom (AVGO.US) showcases the latest developments in private AI cloud and agent governance at VMware Explore, accelerating enterprise-level AI adoption
This week, at the VMware Explore 2026 conference held in Las Vegas, Broadcom highlighted its latest initiatives in AI agent governance, open source security, and data sovereignty.
According to zhitongcaijing APP, this week at the VMware Explore 2026 conference held in Las Vegas, Broadcom (AVGO.US) focused on showcasing its latest plans in AI agent governance, open source security, and data sovereignty.
The semiconductor giant officially launched VMware Private AI Cloud, offering enterprises a direct path to production, enabling them to securely build, run, and govern inference workloads, agent applications, and traditional enterprise workloads on a unified private cloud platform. This means enterprises can now run AI production tasks in their local environments.
Ram Velaga, President of the Broadcom Infrastructure Software Group, stated: “VMware Private AI Cloud is indeed a turning point. Enterprise private clouds and private AI infrastructure are no longer separate but have merged into an integrated platform—enabling production-grade inference workloads and agent AI to be deployed while meeting data sovereignty, compliance requirements, and predictable costs.”
At the same time, Broadcom also introduced VMware AI Factory, which serves as the software-defined foundation for VMware Private AI Cloud.
Paul Turner, Chief Product Officer of Broadcom’s VMware Cloud Foundation Business Unit, pointed out: “We provide customers with a software-defined underlying architecture that automates infrastructure deployment, unifies lifecycle management, and allows customers to independently choose hardware and validated models. The ultimate result is faster deployment of the first model, predictable private cloud costs, and enhanced control over AI Tokenomics.”
According to Broadcom, this AI Factory supports more than 150 open-source and commercial models, is compatible with accelerators from Nvidia (NVDA.US) and AMD (AMD.US), and has been certified by multiple server vendors such as Cisco (CSCO.US), Dell (DELL.US), Supermicro (SMCI.US), and Lenovo (00992).
Suresh Andani, Vice President of AMD's Compute and Enterprise AI Business Unit, said: “Combining AMD Instinct MI350 series GPUs with the open ROCm software ecosystem on VMware Cloud Foundation provides customers with a validated private AI path, featuring a predictable cost structure without token-based billing. This collaboration allows enterprises to run production-grade AI where their data resides while maintaining choice and control over the entire stack.”
In addition, Broadcom also released several new solutions for AI agent behavior governance and control, including AgentMinder, VMware vDefend, and VMware Avi load balancer.
Umesh Mahajan, Vice President and General Manager, Broadcom Application Networking and Security Division, stated: “Enterprises can now leverage a defense-in-depth security system to safely operationalize agent AI, implement strict guardrails, and provide comprehensive protection for their AI environments.”
Alan Davidson, Broadcom’s Chief Information Officer, shared internal practices: “With the support of AgentMinder, our platform has achieved stable global operations, even maintaining zero downtime during maintenance and upgrades. It enables ‘chain-of-custody’ oversight between developers and multi-agent/skills, facilitating company-wide deployment of our AI agent pipelines. Its secure multi-region redundant architecture provides highly available, low-latency connectivity services for over 20 million customer identities and 72,000 employee identities.”
Broadcom estimates that 56% of enterprises are currently running or planning to run production-grade AI inference on private clouds. To meet this trend, the company also released a new AI-ready data foundation for the VMware Tanzu platform. The Tanzu platform is the official agent platform for VMware Private AI Cloud, providing hardened agent sandboxes, AI-ready data bases, out-of-the-box developer tools, a curated app marketplace, and auditable agent governance mechanisms.
Financially, Broadcom plans to release its Q3 financial results after the US market close on September 2 Eastern Time. Market consensus expects adjusted earnings per share of $3.24 and revenue of $29.43 billion; in the same period last year, the company's adjusted earnings per share were $1.69 and revenue was $15.95 billion.

How does Wall Street view the PCE? Goldman Sachs delays expectation for Fed rate hike
After the lower-than-expected US August PCE data was released, Goldman Sachs delayed its expectation for the Federal Reserve's second rate hike from October to December, and stated that it does not rule out the possibility that the Fed may eventually decide no further hikes are necessary. "New Fed Newsletter" Timiraos noted that the PCE does not change the previously known trend of rising inflation. Currently, the market prices in a 39% probability of a rate hike in October, down from 45% before the PCE release; and a 90% probability in December. The yield on 2-year US Treasury notes dipped slightly after the PCE announcement and then rebounded, while the 10-year yield continued to rise.
