Market Chatter: Nvidia Pauses AI Cloud Financing Program Amid Antitrust Concerns

MT newswireMT newswire2026/08/28 09:35
05:35 AM EDT, 08/28/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Nvidia (NVDA) paused its AI Compute Partnership less than two months after launching it amid concerns the program could face antitrust scrutiny, The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter. Some Nvidia employees raised concerns with current and potential customers about the extent to which the program could allow the chipmaker to influence how customers operate, the report said. The initiative provided financing support to AI cloud providers in exchange for a share of revenue and sought some control over how Nvidia chips were rented to customers, the report added. Nvidia did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment. (Market Chatter news is derived from conversations with market professionals globally.
