MANTRA Price Falls 10% as Security Incident Forces Network Halt
- MANTRA price fell 10.84% to $0.00445 after the network stopped processing transactions.
- The halt froze transfers, staking, public endpoints, bridge operations and managed IBC relays.
- Developers are testing patch v8.4.0 before a coordinated MANTRA Chain restart.
MANTRA Chain is offline after its team stopped block production after an incident. The halt froze transfers, staking, public endpoints, bridge migration operations, and managed IBC relays.
MANTRA price fell to $0.00445 at press time, down 10.84% over 24 hours. Exchange trading could continue, while network deposits and withdrawals stayed suspended.
MANTRA Price Falls While Mainnet Operations Stay Frozen
The team first described the shutdown as a precaution in its official announcement. It told users to avoid transactions and warned against unsolicited recovery services.
The MANTRA status page said an underlying vulnerability caused the security incident. It did not publish technical details identifying the affected code or an attack method.
MANTRA said the halt itself did not affect user funds. A full network state snapshot was taken before teams started the restart process. No confirmed report identified stolen, minted, or compromised assets.
The MANTRA price reached a 24-hour low near $0.004126 before returning toward $0.00445. That low now marks immediate support within the supplied market data.
A sustained move below $0.004126 would expose the next referenced area near $0.0035. Holding that level would keep MANTRA price within its recent intraday range.
CoinGecko data showed trading volume rising about 591% to more than $22.7 million during the reported period. Market capitalization stood near $27.8 million.
Patched Release Sets Conditions for a MANTRA Chain Restart
Developers prepared version 8.4.0 to address the vulnerability. The team began testing the release on the DuKong testnet before any mainnet deployment.
The project targeted a coordinated restart for later August 21, subject to clean testing. Validators received instructions to keep mainnet nodes offline until the official restart announcement.
The halt also affected MANTRA Bridge migration services and project-managed IBC relays. Exchange partners paused network deposits and withdrawals, although internal order matching could still operate.
MANTRA has not announced a rollback or change to recorded balances. Teams must verify the patch, coordinate validators, and confirm the existing chain state before resuming blocks.
The token followed a rebrand and one-for-four split from OM. Current MANTRA price levels therefore require split adjustment before comparison with older OM prices.
