Shares in Brighthouse Financial fell 3% Monday, putting the insurer on track to end the day at its lowest price since private asset manager Aquarian announced plans in November to buy it. Today's stock drop came after Delaware's insurance regulator said it was calling in outside experts to help review the deal.
Brighthouse's stock price shot up last year after Aquarian's Nov. 6 plan to buy the insurance company for $70 a share. Brighthouse's shares were recently trading at about $57.
