(1) Canada's wholesale sales in June (excluding petroleum and hydrocarbon products) rose by 2.8% month-on-month, slightly revised up from the initial 2.7%, marking the largest single-month increase since May 2023. Sales of machinery and equipment grew by 4.8% to 20.1 billion CAD, with sales of farm, lawn, and garden machinery jumping 25.9% to 3.1 billion CAD. (2) Sales of food, beverages, and tobacco also surged by 2.8% to 16.4 billion CAD. Wholesale inventories excluding hydrocarbon products increased by 1.2% month-on-month to 140.4 billion CAD.
