Foxconn Sees Agentic AI Driving Growth in CPU Server Demand -- Market Talk
Dow Jones2026/08/12 09:430943 GMT - Foxconn expects the general-purpose server market to maintain solid growth momentum as the emergence of agentic AI drives demand for computing resources beyond AI training and inference, according to company spokesman James Wu. The company believes wider deployment of AI agents will create additional workloads for traditional data center infrastructure, boosting demand for CPU-based servers. Citing industry estimates, Wu notes general-purpose server shipments are expected to grow over the next two years, reflecting strengthening demand. As one of the world's largest server manufacturers, Foxconn expects its CPU server business to outpace overall industry growth, he said. (sherry.qin@wsj.com)
