Under Armour Warns Sales Will Keep Falling -- WSJ
Dow Jones2026/08/07 14:17By Hanna Krueger
Share in Under Armour fell after the company indicated that sales would fall more this fiscal year than it had previously indicated.
The sportswear brand said Friday it expects revenue to decline at a mid-single-digit percentage rate compared with its prior outlook of a "slight decline." It blamed softer demand in North America and the Asia-Pacific region.
The warning came as Under Armour said revenue in its North American business, its largest, dropped 9% to about $610 million in the quarter ended June 30.
The company has been working on a turnaround since 2024. Back then, Chief Executive Kevin Plank said the brand had tried to do "too much of too much" and would focus on selling fewer products at discounts.
The stock fell as much as 7% in early trading. Despite the decline, the shares are still up nearly 20% this year-but down almost 90% from its all-time closing high in 2015.
