ISM's Prices Paid Index Declined in July -- Market Talk
Dow Jones2026/08/03 16:121212 ET - The prices paid index posted a 1.9 percentage point decrease in July, according to ISM's survey of manufacturers, but it still remains at a level that will keep the Fed wary of broadening inflation, a note from Capital Economics says. The ISM survey said the prices index is still being driven by increases in steel and aluminum prices, tariffs and increases in petroleum-based products resulting from the Middle East conflict.
