Solana Price Prediction August 2026: Can $19M From Morgan Stanley and 330,000 Korean Merchants Break SOL’s Triangle?

Solana trades at $73.59 on July 31, down 1.14%, sitting at the triangle apex between the descending trendline from May’s peak and the ascending trendline from the June low as August opens with two institutional catalysts that did not exist a week ago.

The daily chart shows SOL compressing inside a triangle that formed between May’s peak near $98 and the June low at $60.29. Both trendlines converge at current price near $73 to $74, and a directional resolution is overdue. The 20-day EMA at $75.33 and the 50-day at $76.01 sit just above, adding to the resistance cluster the upper trendline already provides.

The 0.382 Fibonacci at $74.79 is sitting just above current price and has been the level that rejected every recovery attempt through July. The 0.5 Fibonacci at $79.27 and the 100-day EMA at $79.39 converge into the same zone, making $79 the key breakout target. Below, the 0.236 Fibonacci at $69.25 and the June low at $60.29 define the floor if the triangle breaks lower.

  1. $74.79 — 0.382 Fibonacci, has rejected every July recovery attempt
  2. $75.33 — 20-day EMA
  3. $76.01 — 50-day EMA
  4. $79.27 — 0.5 Fibonacci and 100-day EMA cluster, key breakout target
  1. $73.42 — Today’s session low and triangle lower trendline
  2. $69.25 — 0.236 Fibonacci
  3. $60.29 — June low and Fibonacci zero point

Unlike most major cryptocurrencies, Solana’s August track record is unusually split. The median is effectively flat at -0.001%, but the average sits at +61.1%, the highest of any month in SOL’s calendar.

That average is entirely carried by 2020’s +213.6% and 2021’s +199.8%, two extraordinary outlier months that have nothing comparable in any other year. Strip those out and August looks more like Bitcoin’s worst month than its best.

The honest read is that August is not reliably strong for SOL, but it is the one month where the right macro conditions have historically produced the largest single-month gains in the token’s history.

Period Price Range Outlook
Aug 1-8 $70 – $82 Triangle resolution, CLARITY Act final window, MSOL inflow trajectory
Aug 9-20 $68 – $85 Post-recess direction, KSNET PoC development timeline
Aug 21-31 $67 – $90 September FOMC pricing builds, seasonal outlier potential if momentum holds

Morgan Stanley launched its spot Solana ETF on July 28, and by its second trading day on July 29 it had already driven the largest single-day inflow across all US SOL ETF products since early May. MSOL pulled $19.06M that session while every other SOL ETF product recorded zero, meaning the entire category’s flow for the day came from one fund that had been trading for less than 48 hours.

The fund carries a 0.14% management fee and passes 95% of staking rewards directly to shareholders, giving institutional investors yield on top of price exposure through Morgan Stanley’s existing distribution network. The day after, on July 30, inflows continued at $403.89K, keeping the positive momentum intact heading into August.

Cumulative SOL ETF inflows now stand at $1.15B with total net assets at $878.33M, with MSOL already accounting for $19.46M of that cumulative figure despite being less than a week old.

KSNET has run Korea’s payment infrastructure for 26 years. Its network covers 330,000 merchants and processes roughly $4 billion in monthly transaction volume — the same tier as the country’s major card networks, not a niche fintech.

On July 30, it signed an MOU with the Solana Foundation to integrate Solana Pay across two tracks.

Track What It Does
Track 1: Domestic Payments Adapts Solana Pay for Korean merchants — digital asset settlement connected to the Korean won network, meeting local AML requirements
Track 2: AI Payments (x402) Explores AI-driven payments where autonomous agents initiate and settle transactions on-chain without human involvement

This is an MOU, not a commercial launch. But context matters. The Solana Foundation has now built institutional relationships across South Korea with Shinhan Card, Toss Bank, KG Group, and now KSNET. Each one has been a testing phase. The cumulative weight of that pipeline is harder to dismiss than any single announcement.

The AI payment track is worth watching separately. Enabling autonomous AI agents to handle payments on-chain is the use case Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan called one of the defining trends of the next cycle earlier this week. KSNET brings the merchant network. Solana brings the settlement rails. The question now is whether the proof-of-concept converts into something commercial before a competitor does.

Detail Value
MOU Signed July 30, 2026
KSNET Network 330,000 merchants
Monthly Volume ~$4B
Years Operating 26 years
Solana Korea Partners Shinhan Card, Toss Bank, KG Group, KSNET
Stage MOU — proof-of-concept before commercial rollout
  • Upside case: The triangle breaks upward, SOL clears the 0.382 Fibonacci at $74.79 and the EMA cluster at $75 to $76, MSOL inflows sustain into a second and third week, and the KSNET MOU draws attention to Solana’s payment infrastructure push toward the 0.5 Fibonacci and 100-day EMA cluster at $79.27 as the CLARITY Act passes before August 8.
  • Downside case: The triangle breaks lower through the $73.42 session low, the CLARITY Act stalls past the recess, MSOL inflows normalize after the launch excitement fades, and SOL slides toward the 0.236 Fibonacci at $69.25 as August seasonal median of essentially flat becomes a negative in the context of the hawkish Fed and Iran escalation risk.
