What This Ripple President’s Statement Mean for XRP Price
Ripple President Monica Long has made a striking claim about institutional demand for XRP and the company’s native stablecoin, RLUSD. Entrepreneur and Bitcoin investor Lark Davis took notice, highlighting her assertion that the level of interest is “nothing like we’ve ever seen.”
Long is not a retail commentator. She leads institutional relationships at one of the most connected companies in crypto. Her words carry institutional weight. Davis noted that price has yet to reflect what Long described.
Why the Price Has Not Moved
Davis addressed the gap between Long’s statement and XRP’s price directly. He attributed it to how institutions operate. Institutional adoption runs on timelines that retail traders find difficult to endure. Board approvals, compliance reviews, custody arrangements, and legal sign-offs all take place before capital moves on-chain.
Davis said the demand is “real, and it is in the pipeline.” The process is slow by design. Institutions do not react to news cycles. They move through structured approval processes that can span months or years.
Davis also noted that the current market environment plays a role. “That’s a bear market,” he said, “so it’s kind of understandable” that the digital asset’s price has not responded. Bear markets suppress reaction times across the board.
What This Means for XRP
The significance of Long’s statement is rooted in her position. As Ripple’s president, she has direct visibility into the institutional pipeline. When she describes demand as unprecedented, she is drawing on relationships and deal flow that are not visible to the public market.
Davis pointed out that this combination has a historical pattern. Demand builds in the background while price compresses. Then the market adjusts when institutional capital reaches spot markets. He said this pattern “tends to resolve with the price going up.”
The key variable is timing. Retail participants often exit before institutional capital arrives. Davis emphasized that the critical question is whether investors are positioned before it hits the spot markets.
Will XRP’s Price Go Up?
Institutional demand for XRP and RLUSD is building through compliance channels rather than through public markets. Long’s statement confirms that Ripple sees activity at a scale it has not seen before. Davis sees this as a structural setup. Capital is in motion, but it has not reached the market.
When it does, the price will reflect it. The process is slow, but according to both Long and Davis, it is already underway.
