Loopring shuts down Loopring DEX and returns user assets

The Ethereum Layer 2 protocol Loopring announced on the X platform that Loopring DEX will immediately cease all trading services, and the relayer will be taken offline at once. The Loopring team stated that the closure is due to Loopring DEX failing to achieve meaningful adoption. As the first zkRollup, its lack of a virtual machine limited ecosystem growth. The delisting of LRC from major exchanges in 2026 accelerated this outcome, and modern zkEVM solutions have rendered Loopring's dedicated architecture outdated.
