Polish digital asset trading platform Zondacrypto is on the verge of bankruptcy, and the scandal may affect the outcome of Poland's presidential election.
Foresight News reports, citing Bloomberg, that Poland's largest digital asset trading platform, Zondacrypto, is on the verge of collapse. The company has halted customer account services; last month, it attracted $100 million in deposits from the Polish public through a large-scale marketing campaign. Polish prosecutors have also launched a fraud investigation into Zondacrypto.
Although there is no evidence that Polish President Karol Nawrocki has any connection to the company, the scandal has left the head of state in a vulnerable position. Zondacrypto was a title sponsor of a Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) event, where, just days before an unusually heated election, a Trump envoy endorsed Nawrocki, who ultimately won the election.
