UK Leading Economic Index Slightly Decreases in February 2026

In February 2026, the Conference Board Leading Economic Index® (LEI) for the United Kingdom edged down by 0.1% to reach 73.6 (with 2016 as the base year at 100), mirroring a similar 0.1% drop in January. Over the six months from August 2025 to February 2026, the LEI declined by 0.7%. This pace of decline is less than half of the -1.6% decrease recorded during the previous six-month span from February to August 2025.

Meanwhile, the Conference Board Coincident Economic Index® (CEI) for the UK rose by 0.1% in February 2026, reaching 108.8 (2016=100), following a 0.3% increase in January. Altogether, the CEI advanced by 0.9% over the latest six-month period.
