The Ethereum Layer-2 network Base, operated by a certain exchange, has announced a technical adjustment and will no longer rely on Optimism's OP Stack toolkit. Launched in 2023, Base is currently one of the most widely used Ethereum Layer-2 networks, with a total value locked in the protocol reaching $3.85 billions. Affected by this news, the OP token has dropped by 4% in the past 24 hours.
