Quick Breakdown

  • AI model growth is driving explosive demand for computing power, according to Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang
  • Rising AI demand could push more Bitcoin miners to pivot toward AI computing services
  • Nvidia’s Rubin Vera chips are in full production and promise major performance gains

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang says demand for computing power is exploding as artificial intelligence models advance at an unprecedented pace, turning AI development into what he described as an “intense race” toward the next technological frontier.

Speaking at a live Nvidia event in Las Vegas on Monday, Huang outlined the company’s outlook heading into 2026, highlighting fierce competition across the AI sector and rapidly rising demand for high-performance computing infrastructure.

According to Huang, AI models are growing exponentially, requiring dramatically more computational resources each year, a trend that continues to fuel soaring demand for Nvidia’s GPUs.

“

The amount of computation necessary for AI is skyrocketing,”

Huang said, noting that AI models are increasing in size by roughly tenfold every year.

“

The faster you compute, the faster you reach the next frontier.”

Bitcoin miners may deepen a shift toward AI computing

The surge in AI demand could further accelerate a trend already taking shape in the Bitcoin mining industry. Over the past few years, several mining firms have either partially or fully pivoted toward AI and high-performance computing services.

Rising Bitcoin mining difficulty has squeezed margins, while AI offers miners a way to repurpose existing infrastructure to generate alternative revenue streams. As demand for AI computing power continues to grow, the shift may become even more attractive for mining companies seeking diversification beyond BTC.

Nvidia’s Next-Gen Rubin Vera chips enter full production

Huang also revealed that Nvidia’s next-generation Rubin Vera chips are now in full production and remain on schedule. Designed to work as a combined system, the Rubin and Vera architecture is expected to deliver up to five times the artificial intelligence computing performance of previous generations.

The advancement underscores Nvidia’s strategy of staying ahead in the AI arms race, where faster computing capabilities increasingly determine who leads the next wave of innovation.

Meanwhile, in November, Nvidia’s third-quarter results became a catalyst for renewed optimism across crypto and tech markets with revenue hitting an all-time high of $57 billion, well above Wall Street’s $54.7 billion projection.

Once frenzied buying, now the "ammunition warehouse" shrinks by 51 trillion KRW! Korean retail investors can no longer afford to buy

In four months, Korean retail investors' "ammunition stockpile" has dropped by 36.5%, returning to levels seen at the beginning of the year. Although retail investors have collectively made net purchases exceeding 75 trillion won, they are still absorbing the sell-off, but the influx of new funds has dried up, and the replenishment rate lags far behind the consumption rate. Combined with the KOSPI plunging nearly 20% this month, continued net selling by foreign investors, and concerns over AI-related credit risks, the Korean stock market may find it difficult to see a sustained rebound in the short term without support from private investors' funds.

The Collapse of "Consensus Trading" and the Birth of a New Consensus! Goldman Sachs Explains: Why Institutions Are Currently Significantly Reducing AI Holdings

The extremely crowded trade of "going long on AI, short on everything else" is undergoing a painful unwinding—markets are no longer satisfied with the "burn rate narrative." Mega-scale cloud providers must deliver real, visible revenue conversions alongside $1.1 trillion in capital expenditures. A power gap of 40-50 gigawatts, rising capital costs, and a macro paradigm shift from an era of "overspending" are turning AI trades from a matter of faith into a harsh test of monetization.
