According to Bitcoin.com, concerns about the pace of development within the Ethereum ecosystem are growing.

Jesse Pollak, head of Base criticized Ethereum's current roadmap as being too conservative and called for the originally scheduled 2027 update plan to be advanced to early 2026.

Dankrad Feist, a developer at the Ethereum Foundation, also held similar views. He said that the current growth plan "lacks ambition" and pointed out problems with existing upgrade processes. Feist also questioned the view that scaling can only be achieved on a second-layer network, emphasizing that large-scale expansion of Ethereum's base layer is feasible.
