The core CPI in the United States unexpectedly fell, while the unadjusted CPI moderately rebounded as expected
On January 15, the unadjusted CPI annual rate in the United States for December rose to 2.9%, rebounding for the third consecutive month and reaching a new high since July 2024, in line with market expectations. The previous value was 2.7%. In addition, the unadjusted core CPI annual rate for December in the United States recorded at 3.2%, marking a new low since August 2024, with market expectations remaining steady at 3.3%.
