The transaction volume of the Bitcoin network reached 19 trillion US dollars in 2024
According to data from Pierre Rochard, Vice President of Research at Riot Platforms, Bitcoin trading volume peaked during the bull market in 2021, reaching about 47 trillion US dollars, and sharply declined in 2022 and 2023. Rochard wrote, "The Bitcoin network completed BTC transactions worth over 19 trillion US dollars in 2024, decisively proving that Bitcoin is both a store of value and a medium of exchange."
