With the market closing at around $93,000 on December 31st, the average unrealized profit rate for 2024 buyers was about 40%. When the Bitcoin price falls below the average purchase price of a previous period, it often signifies a local bottom in pricing. This situation occurred once after an ETF launch in January 2024 and several times mid-year; monitoring group averages is a profitable trading strategy. Entering into 2025, the average cost of Bitcoin is approximately $95,500. Buyers made slight profits at the beginning of the year and as of press time, Bitcoin stands at around $96,000.
