NFL star Odell Beckham Jr. has gained over 55% return on investment for receiving his salary in the form of Bitcoin
According to Yahoo Finance, NFL star Odell Beckham Jr. agreed to receive $750,000 of his salary in Bitcoin when he signed with the Los Angeles Rams in 2021 through Block Inc.'s Cash App.
Data from The Action Network cited by Morningstar showed that on the day of conversion, the price of Bitcoin was $64,158. If calculated at a price of $100,000, these Bitcoins would now be worth $1,168,900 - an increase of over 55%. Although it is unclear whether Odell Beckham Jr. has held onto the Bitcoin for three years, it can reasonably be assumed that his gamble paid off as he confirmed last month that he is still receiving his salary in Bitcoin through Cash App.
