News on November 5th, the well-known U.S. election forecasting institution "Sabato’s Crystal Ball" predicted on Monday that this year's election will result in a one-vote difference in the House of Representatives. The editor-in-chief Larry Sabato, executive editor and deputy editor wrote in an article published on Monday: "Just like the presidential election, the struggle for the House is basically a seesaw battle throughout the cycle." "We always believe that it is very likely that the winners of both president and house are same person but with a tiny margin. We think 218 seats are safe, likely or leaning towards Democrats, while 217 seats are safe, likely or leaning towards Republicans." The House is currently led by Republicans but their advantage is very weak; they hope to hold onto this seat. According to Hill/Decision Desk headquarters forecast, there's a 52% chance for Republicans to win control of the House.
