Retail investors account for 18% of options trading, a record high

The Kobeissi Letter stated that the percentage of retail investors in options trading has just reached a historical high of 18%. This percentage is even higher than during the 2021 meme coin hype. According to data from the options settlement company Options Clearing Corp., the daily options trading volume this year has reached a record-breaking 47 million. This means that individual investors are now trading 8.5 million options contracts per day.
