BUZZ - U.S. chip stocks fall again after briefly stabilizing in the previous session

路透社2026/10/22 12:47

- ** After a brief rebound on Wednesday, US semiconductor stocks fell again in pre-market trading

** Chipmaker stocks declined: Nvidia NVDA.O dropped 2.1%, Advanced Micro Devices AMD.O fell 4.4%;

** Marvell MRVL.O, Applied Materials AMAT.O, and Intel INTC.O fell between 4.6% and 4.9%

** Lam Research LRCX.O declined by 7.2%, underperforming peers. Previously, the company forecast (link) second-quarter earnings would exceed expectations, but analysts believe supply chain shortages will delay growth, limiting upward revisions of earnings forecasts

** Memory chip manufacturer Micron (MU.O) fell 3%, while data storage company Western Digital (WDC.O) and SanDisk (SNDK.O) fell 3.3% and 4.1% respectively

** Texas Instruments (TXN.O) edged down 0.74%, with strong fourth-quarter revenue performance limiting the decline (link)

** Impacted by concerns related to artificial intelligence, chip stocks experienced heavy sell-offs last week and are attempting to rebound this week

** The Philadelphia Stock Exchange Semiconductor Index .SOX rose 3.3% week-to-date through Wednesday's close, after experiencing its sharpest weekly drop since March 2025 last week

** The index recorded its largest single-day gain in nearly three weeks in the previous trading session

** As of the previous trading session's close, the index .SOX has climbed more than 62% so far this year
