Foreign media reported on the 27th, citing a U.S. White House official, that the first batch of 1 million barrels of crude oil, since the United States and Venezuela reached an oil agreement in August, was unloaded in Texas on that day. According to the official, this batch of crude oil, which the U.S. government obtained "for free," will be sold to refineries operated by ExxonMobil and CITGO Petroleum Corporation, the U.S. subsidiary of Petróleos de Venezuela. The report also stated that the arrival of this crude oil gives U.S. President Trump the opportunity to claim, ahead of the midterm elections, that cheaper oil can be obtained. On the same day, Trump campaigned for Republican congressional candidates in Texas. He referred to the crude oil as "a gift" and described it as "the first batch among billions of barrels in the future." (Xinhua News Agency)
