1. According to data from intelligence companies, the lesser-known Korean shipowner Changjin Merchant Marine dominated crude oil transport through the Strait of Hormuz in September, with its fleet shipping more than the combined total of the next three largest shipowners. 2. An analysis based on data from Vortexa, Equasis, and Signal Group vessel tracking shows that Changjin Merchant Marine's ships transported 105.6 million barrels of crude oil through the waterway last month, accounting for nearly 40% of the total oil transported via the Strait of Hormuz during that month. 3. During the same period, the next three companies—Bahri (the National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia), Kuwait Oil Tanker Company, and the shipping division of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company—collectively transported 97.3 million barrels. The statistics are calculated based on ship ownership, not accounting for ship operators.
