Zhihu Finance APP has learned that Meta (META.US) has established a new class of non-voting stock to raise funds for its massive spending in the artificial intelligence (AI) sector. The company announced that its board of directors has approved the creation of non-voting, publicly listed Class C common stock, scheduled to take effect in January 2027. The company plans to distribute a one-time stock dividend to existing Class A and Class B common shareholders at a ratio of one share of Class C common stock for every share held. After the distribution, the market price of Class A common stock is expected to reflect a split similar to a two-for-one stock split, but the voting rights of existing shareholders will remain unchanged.
