The data released by the UK Office for National Statistics on the 21st shows that, due to factors such as increased government spending and rising debt interest payments, the UK's public sector net borrowing in September exceeded expectations, and the total net debt of the public sector surpassed £3 trillion (approximately 2.68 trillion yuan) for the first time, further increasing the fiscal pressure faced by the UK government. The data shows that the UK’s public sector net borrowing in September was £24.5 billion, an increase of £1.8 billion compared to the same period last year, a growth of 7.7%, and £1.9 billion higher than the forecast by the Office for Budget Responsibility. By the end of September, total public sector net debt had reached £3.005 trillion, equivalent to 94.0% of GDP, marking the highest level since the early 1960s. (Xinhua News Agency)
