Rising uncertainty on Wall Street and the problems faced by hedge funds could create a new bullish opportunity for Bitcoin (BTC). Jordi Visser, a macro investor with over 30 years of experience in financial markets, suggests that Bitcoin is beginning to diverge from traditional markets and that a strong rally could occur before the end of the year.

Evaluating recent market developments in a program he participated in, Visser argued that fluctuations in the artificial intelligence sector and losses experienced by hedge funds could create a favorable environment for Bitcoin.

According to Visser, a significant transformation is taking place in the traditional financial world. As artificial intelligence changes investment strategies, hedge funds that trade with high leverage are under increasing pressure, while Bitcoin is showing remarkable resilience in this process.

He Pointed to Late October and December for Bitcoin

Answering the question of when Bitcoin’s next big surge might begin, Visser pointed to two key periods for the remainder of the year.

According to the renowned investor, the first opportunity may arise at the end of October, when major technology companies announce their financial results. Visser noted that renewed optimism in AI investments could also impact Bitcoin, and reminded that the US midterm elections on November 3rd coincide with this period.

Visser stated that the second potential upward trend would be in December, adding that hedge funds readjusting their positions as the year draws to a close could lead to sharp market movements.

Visser stated that he expects Bitcoin to move back towards its previous highs, but did not share any specific price target.

One of the main reasons Visser is optimistic about Bitcoin is the performance of the cryptocurrency market against traditional financial assets.

The analyst noted that Bitcoin has gained approximately 30% and Ethereum (ETH) has gained over 30% since June, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq indices have remained flat during the same period.

Visser noted that Bitcoin’s resistance in the $82,000-$85,000 range, despite selling pressure on stocks, could indicate a shift in investors’ approach to cryptocurrencies.

Visser also argued that Bitcoin’s risk-return performance over the past four months has been outstanding compared to many investment options in traditional markets.

“If I’m Right, the Thing to Do Is Buy Bitcoin”

The renowned investor believes that artificial intelligence and tokenization technologies could fundamentally change the way the traditional financial sector operates.

He believes that making real-world assets tradable through tokenization could allow for freer movement of capital currently locked up in hedge funds and private credit markets.

Visser, arguing that this transformation could increase interest in Bitcoin, made a noteworthy assessment:

“If I’m right, the best way to protect against this is to buy Bitcoin.”

According to Visser, in a world where artificial intelligence is transforming companies and existing business models, Bitcoin could emerge as an alternative store of value for the financial world.

On the other hand, the analyst believes that developments in the tokenization field may become more pronounced in 2027 and could support new capital inflows into the sector.

Excluding the influence of giants like Samsung and SK Hynix, the overall KOSPI is trading at just 8.4 times forward earnings, placing it in the 11th historical percentile. With stock buybacks by Samsung and SK Hynix having recently concluded, net sales by foreign investors, and weak demand from domestic institutions, Korean stocks are losing sources of buying exactly when the market most needs support. JPMorgan pointed out that although holdings of leveraged ETFs have faced large-scale sell-offs, they still remain high, and the possibility of another round of sell-offs cannot be ruled out.
