According to data released by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), during the statistical week ending October 13, speculative traders on the New York Mercantile Exchange reduced their net long positions in silver by 1,874 contracts, bringing the current net long position to 5,735 contracts. Such changes in positions usually reflect adjustments in short-term speculative capital expectations regarding the future movement of silver prices. The narrowing of net long positions also indicates a certain cooling in bullish sentiment among speculative capital towards silver in the market during the week.
