US-listed cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds (ETFs) posted divergent results on October 15, with Bitcoin funds recording modest inflows while products tracking Ethereum, XRP, and Solana faced net withdrawals.
Bitcoin ETFs attract $5.1 million inflow as Ethereum, XRP, Solana funds see outflows
Bitcoin regains ground after sharp outflows
Bitcoin ETF products collectively brought in $5.1 million on October 15, offsetting some losses from the prior session. On October 14, Bitcoin funds saw $261.4 million in outflows, led by major withdrawals from Fidelity’s FBTC and BlackRock’s IBIT.
By contrast, BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) registered inflows of $16.8 million, partially balancing $7.6 million in redemptions from Grayscale’s Bitcoin Mini Trust and $4.1 million from Invesco Galaxy’s BTCO.
Despite the daily rebound, data from Farside Investors indicated Bitcoin ETFs had a net loss of $146 million between October 12 and 15, reflecting persistent selling pressures during the week.
On a single trading day, Bitcoin-linked investment products drew more demand than major altcoin ETFs, though net inflows remained modest in the context of broader weekly outflows.
Altcoin ETFs report notable redemptions
Ethereum, XRP, and Solana ETFs all posted net outflows during the session, with Ethereum experiencing the largest withdrawals among the four major crypto assets.
According to Farside Investors, US spot Ethereum ETFs shed $60.3 million on October 15, following a $129.5 million outflow the previous day. BlackRock’s iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) led the redemptions with $44.4 million, while Grayscale’s ETHE lost $18.3 million. Inflows of $2.4 million into Fidelity’s FETH provided limited offset.
Over two trading days, net outflows from Ethereum ETFs reached approximately $189.8 million. Despite the recent withdrawals, cumulative US Ethereum ETF net inflows remain positive at about $13 billion since launch.

XRP investment products also faced withdrawals. Data from CryptoETF Today showed XRP funds recorded around $1 million in net outflows on October 15. Bitwise’s XRP ETF accounted for $3.7 million in redemptions, partly balanced by $2.7 million in inflows into Franklin Templeton’s XRPZ fund. Estimates of XRP outflows varied between trackers, reflecting differences in how daily flows and fund coverage are calculated.
Despite the short-term weakness, the five XRP funds monitored by CryptoETF Today have seen total net inflows of roughly $1.81 billion since their respective launches.

Solana ETFs, meanwhile, experienced $9.8 million in withdrawals. Grayscale’s GSOL saw $6 million in redemptions, while Bitwise’s BSOL lost $3.8 million. The pullback followed last week’s $24.8 million in outflows, which marked the end of a 14-week inflow streak into Solana funds.

Wider context: Institutional demand and adoption
Recent ETF outflows have reflected the broader volatility and risk-off sentiment seen across crypto markets in mid-October. While Bitcoin ETFs recovered briefly, many institutional investors continued to withdraw holdings from major altcoin products.
Analysts have cautioned that the latest short-term outflows are not necessarily indicative of a shift away from digital asset adoption. Cumulative net inflows into both Ethereum and XRP ETFs remain significantly positive since their US market introductions.
Some industry observers noted there is no direct evidence to suggest funds withdrawn from leading altcoin ETFs have been immediately reallocated into Bitcoin products. Daily fund flows can be influenced by a range of factors including portfolio rebalancing, market sentiment shifts, or institutional capital movements.
